I had my appt with my obgyn this morning for an IUD and incision check. The nurse asked how I was feeling and if I felt like I was depressed in any way. Told her I've got some baby blues and she told my dr. My Dr came in and talked to me and I broke down in front of him (which I'm sure he sees all the time), I couldn't hold back my tears. I told him I think I'm handling it and I'll be fine and he said if at any time I feel like I need something to help, to call and let him know. I cry, like a lot. I'm going thru a lot, I'm stressed, anxious, my daughter still won't latch so I'm still pumping and supplementing bc I'm not pumping much (maybe 1oz a couple times a day, most of the time it's even less). I mean, I don't feel like I want to hurt myself or my baby, but still. I googled baby blues vs postpartum depression and now I feel like I do have PPD, not baby blues anymore. My Dr won't be in tmrw (it's his day at the hospital). Should I call today or wait till Thursday? I feel stupid now for just not saying, yes, I need help while I was there. I've never had PPD or baby blues with any of my previous pregnancies/births so this is extremely new to me and it's kinda scary.

Sorry you're feeling this way mama. Yes, you should definitely call today so that you can get the earliest appointment as possible.
As far as pumping goes, the less you pump, the less you produce. So if you're supplementing, be sure to continue with a regular pumping schedule. Try to pump every time you feed her or at least 8x a day. The stimulation will help produce the milk. You're not going to see results immediately but keep doing it and hopefully in a day or 2, your flow will be sufficient.
Also, keep in mind that at a week old, your babys tummy is not that big so 1oz of breastmilk is enough for her.

Thank you, mama! I try and pump after I feed her. Then I give her the breastmilk at the next feeding, but she still roots like she's hungry even after I've burped her and she won't go to sleep til she gets formula.

I’m so sorry mama but that was me my first two weeks.I was so emotional I would cry a lot and anytime I would speak to anyone about it,It would start the water works.I remember getting frustrated with myself because I didn’t know what was wrong and why I felt this way.And I felt guilty because I just had this miracle, the best thing ever happened to me and yet I’m crying and sad.I am now 4 weeks pp and I am lot better then I was two weeks ago.I have a aunt who went through ppd and just having her to talk to really helped. So if you ever want to talk I am here. I am also a Csection Mama❤️❤️

Yes! That's the same with me. I cry all the time, but it can't even talk about her birth bc the water works start and they can't understand what I'm saying then anyway. None of my family ever experienced PPD after having a baby so I know they wouldn't understand. Thank you!
