Anyone have to have a blood transfusion due to low iron before surgery? I have had one with both my kids. The first was the day of surgery and not expected. It was terrible. The last was a few weeks before the baby. I’ll of course have another one this go around, when was the best time for you to have it done? I don’t want to do it the day of surgery bc it takes HOURS.

@sharanda2018, you would only need two the last couple weeks of your pregnancy. Unless he just doesn’t want to refer you out. I would ask tho. It’s quick and painless.

@amouryaya09, the needle and placement on a blood is HUGE and hurts so bad and you have to stay 5 hours 😭. I’m goin for ask about it. They send me across the street to the hospital to have it done anyways.

@sharanda2018, 5 hours?!?! Hell no lol. I did my infusions in less than an hour. I don’t have that much time lol
