Okay so I am so freaked out. So for the last two days my baby girl has been having problems with her allergies so I have been using saline solution & a suction & trying to keep her cleared out as best as I can. Well around 12 I just got done pumping & getting ready to lay down because my baby girl didn’t wake up & I figured she would sleep for about another hour maybe longer. Nope I am laying down then I hear my baby girl start coughing so I start to get up & make her a bottle of breast milk & then I hear her gagging on something so I rush to her roll her to her side & start patting her on her back & beat on the wall to get my cousin to come help me with her. She was gagging on mucus so this momma did her routine again & suctioned her out again & she still sounds horrible. I am so glad she has a dr appointment tomorrow, but this momma won’t be getting much sleep. Way to scared to fall asleep & my baby girl start to choke while I am asleep. I would so rather lose sleep then lose my baby girl.

I don’t wanna freak you out even more, but I feel like it’s better to know just in case. My daughter had those exact same symptoms when she was 4 weeks old, so I took her to the doctors and her doc sent us to the ER for more testing. She tested positive for RSV. If you have any help, take turns watching her throughout the night and constantly checking on her.

The way the nurses and docs in the hospital described why RSV can be fatal is the baby’s heart basically goes into overdrive trying to fight off the infection and it could cause them to stop breathing. That’s why they admit infants with RSV to the hospital, so they can monitor their breathing.

I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy.
