I don’t think that we should invalidate someone’s feelings because someone else has it worse. I believe the “it could be worse” mentality hinders women (and anyone) from speaking their truths and their struggles, and that only damages our mental health. Parenthood is hard. Being infertile is hard. Suffering losses is hard. And it’s okay to complain and feel however you need to feel about it.

I agree 110%. 3 years ago I didn’t think I’d be ever be a mother. No matter how tired or frustrated I am. I don’t complain about it. I know god can take my children back any given second. I am never ungrateful, I know when I am at my wits end, I know it’ll pass. When my kids are losing their shit. I know there’s a end in sight. I don’t complain about pregnancy either. I love being a mom, I may have given my children life...but in reality they gave me mine back ♥️ forever grateful.

Motherhood *is* hard and we shouldn’t have to keep that quiet because it might upset someone.

Right? I get a little irritated hearing people complains about their parents over petty things, because mine passed before i even became an adult, but I’m not telling them they’re ungrateful for it.

I told myself for years that I have no right to complain, because “it could be worse”. The only thing it got me is anxiety and mental health issues.

I've been on both sides of this and while I agree it is hard on both sides both deserve an outlet. We all drown in our emotions, at times. No matter which struggle we're facing and while I would at least try to have the respect and filter what I say to who I'm speaking with -everyone needs someone and not everyone has a choice. In my opinion we need to help who we can with what we can, but that again is my opinion

We can complain about whatever we want. I complain all the time about my children cause it is tough and hard and tiring and sometimes depressing. I also love the happy times and when my 2 aren't fighting or whining and i am so damn thankful i have them. Motherhood is hard. Being infertile is hard. Loss is hard. It's all hard. No one should keep quiet if its how they feel because someone's feelings will get "hurt"

Why does it have to be seen as complaining?? We are women, it’s more than natural for us to talk about our day, our feelings and frustrations. I don’t see that as complaining. The same way she just voiced her opinion and feelings and frustrations is the same thing a mom may be doing at the end of a long day. Calling it “complaining” is probably the start of the confusion. Take out that word and enter venting. Is it then seen the same way?? Are we not allowed to feel tired and voice that because we should be grateful?? Is voicing that saying I’m not grateful?? That’s not what we mothers have said, we said were exhausted, and just because we say that does not make us any less grateful for our babies and being blessed to have them. I understand how she may feel and I hate that for her but it doesn’t help to look at the glass half empty. How about she encourage that mom to keep going because someone else can’t go at it at all instead of “stop complaining”?? And then in return how about that mom encourage her to seek a surrogate or adoption because there are plenty children who need a home and love and would be happy to have someone to be exhausted in behind them. Us women should stick together. I’m sure she has expressed frustration with something that she has that someone else longs for as well.

I think we should all talk about it. Y’all are friends right? Talk about how hard parenting is. Talk about how hard infertility is. It’s that simple

I get irritated at this. While I didn’t suffer for years of infertility I forced myself to wait to have kids while all my friends had them throughout their 20’s. It was super hard and won’t lie her I ended up unfollowing or unfriendliness them as that is how I personally dealt with it. But I would never in a million years expect someone to silence their voice and feelings because I am having a hard time. Even through my miscarriages and I was super bitter every time someone did a pregnancy announcement, or complained about a pregnancy symptom doesn’t mean I would message them and say ‘you shouldn’t complain about these pregnancy pains because there are people who lost their pregnancies!’ I have seen that done in this app and it seriously upset me. If yo can’t handle what another person is saying then you need to take yourself out of the equation and either I friend or block the person. Do not force your feelings and thoughts on someone who is just expressing what they are going in their own space.

Infertility, miscarriage, pregnancy, parenthood. It is all damn difficult and you are allowed to talk, complain or even rant about that shit and that should be okay and they should never be shamed over that. Anyway, that is my opinion!
