What were your must haves for you hospital bag? (Other than the obvious clothes, hygiene products, chargers, etc.)
Phone charger, a book, socks and house shoes, I did not pack any make up. Hair dryer, brush, toiletries, comfy clothing, your own pillow and blanket, fan, boppy if nursing, nursing bra if nursing, baby clothing, nipple cream. Don’t pack diapers and wipes. The hospital will supply them. They’ll also supply what you need for the comfort of your vagina after birth.
My must have is slippers (cheapo ones that i can leave at the hospital), hairties, dry shampoo, waterproof mascara, concealer, lipstain, chapstick. Nipple balm, nipple shields!!
My makeup! I wanted to look nice for my boy when he arrived. Also I wanted to look halfway decent in all the photos the following day
Chapstick, I’m gonna say hair brush because I forgot my hair brush so my hair looked awful that entire time at the hospital so do not forget your hair brush, lotion because my skin got dry, dry shampoo is one that I’m going to pack this time just incase I need it, hair straightener, hair bows/hair ties/ponytail holders, boppy pillow incase you’re breastfeeding, breast pump, house shoes/slippers so you don’t have to touch the nasty hospital floor, dandruff shampoo is a must because if you’re like me you’ll get horrible dandruff after giving birth I don’t know why this happen but it did, one comfortable outfit to do pictures in if you plan on or have the time to snap a few cute pictures of you and the baby, snacks for the husband, clothes for the husband, and that’s all I can think of at the moment for your bag but I will say make sure they give you stood softeners before leaving the hospital because they didn’t give me stool softeners when I gave birth to my first child and pooping for the first time was like giving birth all over again it was super painful I thought I was going to die and make sure you take some of that numbing spray that they give you at the hospital because that really helps with recovery and also take some of those squeeze bottles because those really help with recovery and when you use the bathroom cause it burns and those squeeze bottles help with the burning.
With my first the squeeze bottle was definitely my best friend for a while! And I would have forgotten my hairbrush! Lol. Thank you! 💜😊
@emmahrenholz, I love the squeeze bottle I’d always do it before, during, and after using the bathroom because peeing was so painful for me lol I’m glad I said hairbrush then cause I know what it’s like to forget it and it definitely wasn’t fun trying to get all those knots out of my hair after coming home from the hospital! You’re welcome!
I think for me its gonna have to be a portable fan for labor, I will be hot and irritated
You're my new best friend. Lol. I could probably have a bag alone for some chocolate lol
Also pack a heating pad if you can. If you get the epidural your back will hurt so bad 😭
