Victoria has been on a pool deck since she was 1 week old. I’ll never forget (as crazy as this sounds) going from the hospital to our local pool club to watch the boys swim in a swim meet. I knew going in that having her be the 5th baby, she’d just have to come along for the ride on all that we do. We’re a swim family, so as you can imagine - this little girl has been poolside her entire life. I’ve always joked that she’s destined to be a great swimmer because it’s in her blood (watch her be a hockey player!). But in all honesty, she’s always loved being in the water and near the water… so swim lessons have ALWAYS been something that she’s done. .

.

From the time she was in my belly, I knew I wanted her to know how to swim - and early on. Personally I feel that learning to swim is a lifeskill that everyone should know. It’s a safety thing for me. Victoria just started her new Spring Swim Lesson season at our local YMCA @Baysideymca. She started lessons there this past October and she has really grown leaps and bounds (thank you Ms. Cindy!). She’s been swimming like a little fish and learning lots of water safety lessons. No joke - she wanted her photo by this sign so everyone knows you need to make sure you shower first. .

If you’re looking to start swim lessons for your little ones (or big ones!), I highly recommend your local YMCA! I’m part of the @ymcagp network and live it! There’s not much I can say this about in life… but I KNOW swimming. I was a competitive swimmer for 20 years and have had my kids swimming competitively for 10 years. The YMCA knows what they’re doing and have helped transform my kids’ strokes. Start them now before the summer starts!!

The best part for Victoria is that she loves picking out new swimsuits! My little fish 🐠! 💖 #sponsored #swimming #swimmer #learntoswim
