How come breastfeeding mommas can’t show any pride in breastfeeding without formula feeding moms taking offense and saying you’re belittling them 💁🏼♀️
Your post reminded me of something that happened the other day. Someone I work with (who doesn’t have kids) was talking about how appalled she was that a parent breastfed her infant during an IEP meeting at school. I told her to get over it & grow up. 🙊
Oh my god the worst type of person. No kid, no opinion 💁🏼♀️
@roth1321, I know for a fact that they had two entirely different types of cancer, neither are genetic.
@roth1321, but like I said, I don’t find anything wrong with this, I just don’t believe to be entirely accurate
@lorany, you don’t have to know why someone else would be offended. People will take offense to anything, and if they do that’s on them. 🤷♀️
I know what you’re saying. It does go both ways, but I have had people get offended when I mentioned how long I breastfed or that I did so exclusively. I wasn’t saying it to shame anyone, just sharing a fact that I’m proud of. 🤷🏼♀️
Same. My 2.5 yr old still nurses occassionally and I've been asked if I'm going to "keep this one on the boob too" (my 1 yr old) 🙄 I love breastfeeding. I also love healthy babies.
You can be! I often see BF moms offending FF moms as opposed to the other way around.
I was just about to say this. I always see it this way too
I’ve never shamed or belittled ff moms, I think fed is best but scientifically speaking breastmilk is superior and always will be, and I’m super proud to be able to give it to my kid. That’s not saying formula is bad or anything like that it exists for a reason. I posted a picture on my Facebook about benefits for mom and baby and I thought it was cool but my friends immediately said I was full of it and I was shaming them for ff

Breastfeeding information and tips
This is a post I've made to help women who are thinking of breastfeeding, or are breastfeeding and may have some questions about breastfeeding. It is also aimed to help women who may be experiencing problems with breastfeeding and may need to know how to deal with these problems because most breastfeeding problems can be sorted.

I feel like it's an emotional response on some of our parts that is more hurt than offended, but hard to express via text so it just comes off as offended (not for everyone, I can only speak for myself but I think there are a lot of people in the same boat as me).
I was the pregnant mama who did all the research and was 100% on board with breastfeeding exclusively and wanted all of that for my son. Then we both almost died during labor, he was in the NICU for a week, I was in the ICU in a separate hospital for 4 of those days, there was no donor milk available at the hospital he was in and I was unconscious so long I couldn't pump, plus the blood loss caused my body to not produce breast milk. I started off feeling like a failure for not being able to breastfeed. I knew everything about how much better breastfeeding was, and here I was unable to do it for my son.
I love seeing posts about how long mamas have been breastfeeding, but things that talk about how much healthier babies are, how much better their life outcomes are, they hurt. Because, rational or not, it feels like it's calling out a failure on my part. I usually just don't comment because I know how important education on the benefits of breastfeeding is, and I know a ton of moms aren't aware of the benefits or are shamed into thinking they shouldn't breastfeed. So I don't let my hurt get on the way of that education, but it takes work to get to the place whete you don't just respond emotionally and defensively when you see things taking about how much healthiet your kid could have been.
Anyways, sorry, that was long and why I don't usually chime in, but I think that's why a lot of women feel attacked, rational or not.
