Just got an update from the doctors, one of the night shift nurses who took care of her for 8 shifts came down with some spots on the back of her ear and her neck which the believe is shingles. But because of the time frame that went by they can't perform the test they normally would to check if she has it. Now they want to give her some shot to help prevent her catching it!

I had chickenpox as a child but because of her prematurity I didn't pass on the immunoglobulins I would have had she would have been born in the third trimester.

Did the baby have chicken pox? You can’t get shingles if you didn’t have chicken pox first.

I am so sorry! Sounds like someone in the staff was being careless. When my son was in the NICU we had to wash our hands before we were even allowed in!

Hopefully they are checking their staff. I’d be keeping every single person away until they figured out who has it.

Man that's insane I know when my son was in the nicu you had to wash all up your arm with these scrubby things for 3 minutes....someone isnt doing their part.
