Did any of you Mums have really low key weddings? Like no dress or anything like that. Just close friends and family and a nice dinner?
I and my fiance want to get married this summer, but I don't want a big wedding, was wondering if any of you had similar weddings and how you liked it :)
We had a “wedding” at my parents old house (my childhood home). We were both first to eat married (and possibly the only), so my mom had to have the wedding. Only had 16 people though, and it was super simple. Used the extra money to pay off my husbands student loans.
My brother and his wife eloped a little over a year ago and it was right for them.
You need to figure out what’s right for you.
I called a chapel and set a date. Husband and I dressed up really nice, went alone and got married. Went to dinner right after. We told everyone we got married a few days later. Eloping is romantic and we spent less than $200.
@mariahpeterson, it’s very romantic and special ❤️😍 it’s all about how you feel though. We talked about eloping since we were teenagers so we had our minds set for years.
We got married in my in-laws backyard. I had my fil ordained online. My mil did my makeup. I got my hair and nails done. My dress was from my sisters wedding. My husband wore dress pants and a collared shirt. The only other people were my sil and my bil was on FaceTime. We brought in dinner and we loved it. We got to focus on us.
That's nice, I imagine having a small wedding let's you guys be closer. No stress of planning or having to conform, just you two doing your thing
Yeah, that's what I'm asking. If anywon has had a similar low key wedding, of just a nice dinner or small party maybe
I got married in a green dress that was 70 dollars with flowers in my hair. My hubby wore blue jeans and a white button up shirt with both our cowboy boots. We got hitched at a place called the hitching post it’s literally just a little chapel where doily’s go to retire and just had my immediate family grandparents and my husbands 2 close friends. Went home ate cake and just hung out at my house. I always thought I wanted more as a kid.. sometimes I think it would be nice to have more pictures and more of the shabang but in reality it was about me and my husband and no one else and our love for each other was just as great. Plus we spent like 200$ total. So saved us a shit ton of money! I made my own bouquet from fake flowers to keep and the only other think I had was a wedding cake topper I painted to match us. I’d say small is good.
So nice😊😊😊😍
We were talking about have a nice dinner with close friends and fam. We would marry at the clerk of Circuit Court, just paperwork wise. And I would dress up and take some photos but nothing very fancy. Save money on the "wedding" and use the saved money to have a honeymoon trip to Iceland
I had the best low key wedding! Did it in 5 days! Went to Smyrna Dunes Beach after the cars leave (around 5) and had 17 friends and family attend. Dress was $5. Went to a restaurant after (I told them 2 days before I was getting married). Me and my husband still to this day say it was all perfect. My maid of honor made my bouquet ($40 Publix Flowers)
