So I was looking at baby thermometers... any recommendations? I like the ear and forehead ones, but I do I need a traditional one to use when she's a newborn or something?

You need the traditional one , when they’re smaller you want to check their temp rectally . The forehead ones aren’t as accurate , I’m not sure about the ear ones

My doctors office uses the Exergen temporal thermometer so that’s what I have at home. I also have a little one they gave me at the hospital which can be used orally, rectally or under the arm.

We really like this one for our daughter. It’s quick and easy.

You don’t need a traditional one. My son’s doctor told us we should NEVER stick anything into our baby’s rectum. If a temperature needed to be done that way it should be done by a professional because it’s very easy to accidentally perforate a newborn baby’s bowels that way.
