38 week update 🤰- 2cm dilated 60% effaced! I get my membrane swept next Thursday at my 39th week check up 🤞🏻pretty excited but anxious at the same time, I had it done with my daughter at 40 weeks and had her the next day!! 😬🥰

What does that do, the sweeping? I've never heard of that until this app

Basically like they are checking your cervix but put pressure around the wall of it.. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but it’s nothing like inducing.. I think I explained it right lol, if not someone else might explain it better

Also referred to as a membrane sweep, membrane stripping or simply a sweep, this technique involves gently lifting the amniotic sac—or fetal membrane—from the cervix and lower uterus. Late in pregnancy, a doctor or midwife inserts a gloved finger through the cervical canal and uses a sweeping motion to separate the membrane from the cervix.
