Cleaning advise please ladies. There’s a horrible smell coming from my sofa. I have scrubbed it all over with zoflora and water but the smell just won’t shift. My little boy is forever spilling his drinks on it and I’m thinking milk has seaped through to where the springs are and has gone all mouldy. If that’s the case how on earth do I go about that? 🤢 any tips would really be appreciated. No more milk on the sofa from now on that’s for sure!!

Depending on what kind of material ya sofa is you can use products on it like carpet shampoo, stain removers etc I spray mine with varmoosh (massive pink can you get it for a quid in Poundland) usually if lil man spills anything that can smell on ours or the floor. I also spray mine with 1001 or Febreze (like I say check they can be used on the material of ya sofa) x

Thank you for your reply! I don’t think any of those will do anything because obviously they will only be able be sprayed onto the surface of the sofa and I’m sure some milk most have soaked right into the base of the sofa underneath the cushions 😫 xx

Ah if it’s that far down I dunno, I know they do soak down into the sofa as I’ve had milk, juice etc spilt on to mine but to go that far down then I can’t think of anything you could buy in the shops that could go that deep into the sofa, hopefully you’ll find something soon x

Could it just be the cushions? If there material or you can unzip the cover you could try hosing them down like wash them or soak them and then rinse them in the bath or garden? I cant think of any way to actually get into the base of the sofa though.

I think it’s both the cushions and the base to be honest. I’ve washed the cushion covers already but maybe I could try and wash the actual cushions on a warm day and then leave them in garden to dry. I don’t think there’s a solution to the base tbh. No hope of getting a new sofa, we only got this one from DFS less than a year ago and we’re paying monthly for it for the next 3 and a bit years 🤣 x

Bicarbonate soda either mix with water and spray it on or sprinkle it on over night and hoover it up the next morning 👍🏼
