Are there things you choose not to tell your health visitor?
I was talking to a friend the other day about how Harrison is on hungry baby milk. She asked if the health visitor has ever gave me into bother for giving it to him. I said no I’ve not actually told her (she’s never asked and it’s been a few weeks since I last seen the HV). My friend said don’t tell her because she’ll moan at you as her HV was upset at her when she used it for her baby. She said it’s your baby and you do what you think is best and that there’s lots of things she doesn’t tell her HV. I was just curious what things doesn’t everyone else tell their HV?

I told my health visitor finley was on hungry baby milk but didn’t tell her that we co-sleep x

@mrsmowmow, @theodoresmammy, @toni_mcentee, That was also one of the things my friend said she didn’t tell her HV. I do it too but she’s never asked me if I do it. Seems like she doesn’t ask me a lot😂

You were meant to have a visit at 10 days... And a few since then. You should have one coming up at 6 months x

She came out to see me first time about 2 weeks after Harrison was born then every week till about 6 weeks. I haven’t seen her since then and he’s 15 weeks now. I see her tomorrow xx

Yeah Healthvisitor don’t recommend hungry baby milk as it’s heavy on their tummy and it makes them feel full and feed less, so they’re getting less. Most new babies are hungry for the first few months, that’s normal. 1st stage has everything they need till 12months But you don’t have to tell them anything you don’t want to x

I was advised at hospital by the specialists & midwives not to give hungry baby milk - they had 9 babies admitted over a short period for getting very poorly from this milk. I can't quite remember the reason he gave it was 8 months ago. But I think it was something to do with babies not being able to digest the thicker milk so it was filling their tummy's at not being fully digested? Something like that.
I gave Fred hungry baby milk though & had no problems. ( This was before being told this ) apparently HV ain't allowed to advise using it any more. Just to increase your milk.
You don't need to tell them everything. Answer their questions yes but at the end of the day you are the parent and you make the chooses x

My daughter is on hungrier milk but that’s because it settles her more and she will drink less than what she would drink on the normal milk
