My son is hitting a point where if he gets upset or even sees me he reaches out for me, my SO could calm him this morning when he was being cranky but as soon as he saw me he got fussy and kept reaching out for me..
he’s getting very clingy.. my only thing is I hope he allows my SO is still comfort him.. n not make him feel like he’s not interested in him.
A blog I read earlier today said something abt this being considered high needs baby..

That’s what I’ve read originally, and having like anxiety around strangers but he just gets bashful it’s so cute lol I was a super shy child. But yeah I’m hoping it gets just alil better so my SO doesn’t feel like he’s always wanting me over him

it will. They go thru these stages. I remember how rough it was for a few weeks.

I don't think that sounds high needs at all...pretty typical for his age. :) It'll be ok.

Nah, not high needs. Just knows and wants mom. My toddler still does this - if he knows I'm around then dad is no longer good enough. If I'm not around then he's fine with dad or grandparents.

This is exactly my son. He is still very much a Mama's boy, however if I'm not around daddy will do lol oh as of lately Noah is starting to openly want daddy when I'm around, it feels good, but weird hahaha. Like, he actually wanted daddy to put him to sleep the other night, I was surprised 😂

Baby don’t have high needs! They need love,comfort & protection, this is a big world and baby knows you’ll do that. Good luck!

Yeah ik ive always read it as separation anxiety around this age, I was kinda surprised to read that but in a way makes sense I guess with needing mom there always.
One thing I do adore is that my son always reaches out to touch my hand softly just to make sure I’m there then goes back to being a wild little man
