Is there antthing i can do to produce more breast milk?
I think they are doing that today. I hope so because i pumped last night and my milk is coming in great! So if he latches soon we will be good
Nurse nurse nurse! Him nursing is your best bet! You could also try to power pump! And make you you are drinking a lot of water, hydration is important
If you do not have him nursing on demand your milk will not come in as fast and not as much either. If you can't breastfeed on demand you should be pumping every two hours and feeding him that. He does not need formula if you want to breastfeed. It will stretch his belly out giving more milk than you make.
Yea the nurse is gonna give him formula tonight but im hoping my milk will start coming in because i absolutly want to breast feed. Idc how bad it hurts or how hard i have to keep trying. Ive been trying all day to get him to latch on and eat. And he acts like he wants it he will almost latch on then he will fall sleep and close his mouth lol. Maybe tomorro
Right now you just need to eat enough calories and drink plenty to of water. Try helping baby latch, like shove as much nipple in his mouth as you can lol, they do need help sometimes. But if you can't get him to latch its normal to only be pumping under an oz right now, but what you make is all he needs.
Fenugreek teas work amazing on producing milk...or u can just take the pills but trust me it works magic !
Fenugreek is a hit or miss. Some people it help, some it dries up their supply.
I had him this morning i was able to pump a tiny bit of milk. But hes not latching
Like said above your actual milk will take a few days to come in. Right now your body is making colostrum which the baby needs just as much as breastmilk and his tummy is very tiny right now. Have you been able to talk to a lactation specialist? Or have you tried a nipple shield yet?
If you JUST had your baby it can take a few days for your milk to come in once it’s in all you can really do is feed as much as your baby wants to eat and then your body will regulate how much the baby eats and how much you will produce. If you still have a low supply you can try more water intake I’ve heard oatmeal works also
If he’s not latching ask them if they can bring in a Lactation consultant so she can help you.
