So I'm already starting to leak, A LOT. I remember with my first I was told by a couple moms you can't pump while pregnant because it can cause preterm labor. But I'm curious. There's mom's who breastfeed while pregnant but it doesn't cause preterm labor?

my cousin breastfed through each pregnancy. Pretty sure she pumped through her first one. I have an appt tomorrow but I don't believe they have a lactation consultant in that portion of the building I'm in. I'm contemplating asking my cousin too lol.

a lactation consultant on line stated that on recent research it would cause preterm labor and that apparently the milk doesn't produce the nutrients before the baby is born. Which makes no sense how it wouldn't have nutrients.

ya my doc said same thing and that they also recommend mothers to slow down breast feeding during pregnancy

I was told it's okay to continue to breastfeed while pregnant because your body is use to it so it shouldn't cause contractions. I breastfed my son while pregnant until I was 8 months

my curiosity is too, like when you take warm shower there's stimulation to produce. Not to be Tmi or anything, but there's the guys who still do things to their SO's breasts while their pregnant (not saying mine) and it's a stimulation. So it's confusing to me how pumping would be too much and cause the preterm labor

also. Everything I've read states it's the oxytocin levels that causes the contracting. Which your oxytocin levels change during sex as well. A lot causes the oxytocin levels to change during pregnancy.

I still bf my daughter like once a day sometimes as little as a couple times every few days. My OB knows and hasn't told me to do otherwise so Idk.
