I'm 2 days past our first IVF transfer and my husband wants to go to our friends house for dinner where we would typically have drinks and smoke. I immediately just felt like "No, not safe, don't go". I really don't want to be around people who are smoking and drinking but they are our best friends. What do I do?

I would stay home and relax. Maybe tell hubby he’s welcome to go.. ?

I told him I didn't want to go but that he was welcome to go. He says that's rude and that I can't avoid our best friends for 9 months. We're both staying in but he's obviously upset about it and just doesn't understand. :(

Tell him you're avoiding them during the implantation phase. It is important to take care of yourself right now.
