THIS! I had to be induced at 37 weeks because little man stopped growing because of IUGR and the longer he was in the higher risk of still birth was. They told us to EXPECT NICU time. Of course he was 4lbs 13oz, but they said even if he was normal sized to expect NICU time at 37weeks. Babies just aren't ready that early! Luckily my son made it out with nothing but some jaundice that kept us at the hospital for three extra days, but even the doctors were shocked he did so well. I'm definitely praying to make it to even 40 weeks with this little one. It's for their health, you can get over being uncomfortable. I took blood thinner shots twice daily and had gestational diabetes with my son. But had they said I could safely go the full forty, you bet your ass i would have for my son. Screw your discomfort, babys last week's of development are more important.

thank you! Delivering at 37weeks was so scary. I can't imagine wanting to. I'd be so scared something would go wrong.

I never went passed 37 weeks with any of my kids all born healthy but I totally agree with your post!!

I’ll add this. My first came at 39 W 6 days at the 23hr and 47 min. He was in NICU. My second came at 40 W 5 days, after 2 fail medically inductions, I had a c section. He was in NICU. My last came at 37 W 2 days via c section. He was in NICU. I say this to say, having a baby in NICU isn’t fun. AT. ALL. Please for the love of all babies growing and developing, allow them to come when they are ready. It’s a pain to witness and you can’t do anything to stop it. Just bc so many people did it... or bc older generation says it is okay to do, it’s not. It’s not safe! Do. Not. Self. Induced. Thanks @mychemicalshaymance, for this Ted Talk
