I heard of a period of time babies go through starting at 2 or 3 weeks up to 3 months called the “purple” crying. Do all babies go through this ?

Yes my son went through it the first couple weeks and it was horrible but he got over it when he was about 1 month old

purple crying is when they cry for no reason and it’s the peak of crying when they cry the most sometimes there’s nothing you can do about it just try to comfort them the main thing that helped was just comforting him and keeping him entertained

Download wonderweeks it’s basically a predictor for when your baby will be fussy and it’s extremely accurate it also explains in detail why your baby is fussy. It’s mostly about brain development and growth.

i've heard of this, me and my SO had to watch like a 30 minute video before we left and took Jaxon home, on how baby's can insolably cry at certain months and how important it is to give yourself a break and never ever get frustrated and mishandle baby.

Yes. I was talking to someone today about this actually. Here is my take on this whole purple cry. Don't judge me too harshly if you don't agree 😂
Our brains have pathways either develop into something or shrink till nonexistence. Example: If you smoke you have a smoking pathway in your brain, if you stop smoking that pathway decrease and another "non smoking" pathways forms. Any shrinking pathway gives a huge fight right at the end before it disappears, kinda like a final hurrah as it wants to stay so it gives everything it has...
I personally believe that the birthing process is incredibly traumatic for babies. Us as mothers know what it takes from us, but I don't think we realize what it takes from these small tiny humans that are going through such an extremely scary situation! I believe that that birthing process forms a negative pathway, but from the time they come out they get nurtured , rocked, taken care of, creating a path of calmness and love. Around that end of that 4th trimester (as I like to call it) that 1 month after birth, the purple cry comes into play. That inconsolable baby. I truly believe that it is that final hurrah from that negative pathway wanting to stick around.
Sounds crazy now that I am writing it, but I do believe it. All we can really do is hold that baby, love that baby, till that pathway finally disappears.
