Maybe you should consider moving back in with her. Are you less compassionate towards your parents only because they have no sympathy or compassion for you??

There is a lot more going on with my parents. They are more controlling and my mother in law and I just got along better. She didn't try to control me. She encouraged me to things on my own. Not like my parents now, who think just because I'm helpless, I can't ride the bus. They don't even want me driving. I had to sell my car because of them.

I have a better relationship with my mother in law than my own mother and for a short time we lived with them but I would never live with my mother again.
