My mom gave my youngest (8 months at the time) ice cream at my oldest birthday (she was turning 2) I told her not to because she was lactose intolerant but yet she did when I wasn’t around. Yeah my youngest was up all night with an upset belly
Could she possibly have a gluten allergy too? My husband’s aunt’s youngest daughter had a gluten allergy which caused her to be in a lot of pain in her stomach.
I have to tease here: You couldn't have just said husband's cousin? Lol. But, yes, food sensitivities and/or allergies are nothing to take lightly. Hope she is better now!

I’m sure you can imagine my reaction when I come home from nearly a 20 hour shift at the hospital and see my sweet, precious 2 year old sucking on a bright red cherry popsicle after I BEGGED my brother in law to not give her anything at all with dye
My oldest is red dye sensitive. He vomits when he has too much. We found this out when he was sick with a cold (no vomiting) he finally was feeling better just dehydrated. I had asked my husband to get pedialite. He bought red Powerade. It was dark our oldest was tired, I didn’t want to give him any but the doctor had insisted we get some electrolytes in him before bed. So 8oz later, he vomited until his bed was soaked we went to the Er (red vomit = scared everyone). Doctor tried an experiment, 2oz red drink, son puked until he cried. 2oz clear pedialite and nothing happened. Doctor said avoid red dye whenever possible, sensitivity can become allergic reaction. Long story short my husband got to wash all the nasty bedding and clothes, though we had to throw the pillows, they were unsalvageable.
It's like my sister in law. Has her own 2 boys and was just completely not fucking listening to me. Gave my son water at 4 months old, fed him rice cereal at 4 months old. Kept trying to force baby food. I was like he doesn't fucking NEED that. "Oh I did it with my kids and they're fine" well fuck you. I'm totally just going blast her ass into another universe if she tries this shit with this baby because holy fuck. Nothing more annoying when you say NO. they just think, oh yeah it's fine. Listen, that kid came from my vagina , not yours.
My mil learned the hard way that not following what we say means she doesn't get to be alone with our child. It's a trust thing, if we can't trust you to follow a small rule then we can't trust you to be alone with our child, the most important thing in our lives.

well once she hit 1 she slowly got out of the lactose intolerance. She’s been tested and tested we don’t know what it is.
