Have a question for the moms that give their babies formula. Which do like better enfamil or similac…

What’s his doctors reason for the switch? My daughter was formula fed and we used Similac just because it was what I researched most about and one of the only ones she really liked.

His doctor says she wants to change it just because of the calories. I really don’t want to risk him on enfamil because my husbands older brothers daughter was on enfamil and had an allergic reaction. And I’m afraid of him having one too.

My son was on similac when he was born but then he had colic really bad so we switched to enfamil but they colic actually got worse, then we tried gerber soothe, and that worked for alittle bit then we went back to enfamil and tried the gentlese he stayed on that up until he was six seven month until I changed it again because it made him really constipated, now he’s on gerber gentle, so it’s really up to you on what works for him, if he’s doing fine on similac then keep him on it

I would like to stay on it and I tried to tell his doctor that and it felt like she didn’t want to listen.

Unless it's free from your doctor you can continue your choice in formula I dont see why you need to change if your little one is thriving...

My daughter was on nutramigen even though his dr. Wanted her on similac but my baby was allergic to alot of different formulas after ER visits insurance paid for the formula and we stuck to nutramigen... to this day my dr. Feels some type of way but I saw the need of going agaisnt my dr. Wishes... if you need a second opinion consider talking to another dr.

Thanks. Hopefully it won’t have to come talking with another doctor but we will see. And I thought about it after I had left his appointment. My son was in the hospital for 3 weeks after he was born. He was at Kaweah Delta a local hospital where I live for 2 weeks and they had him on enfamil and he wasn’t gaining any weight. Then he went to valley children’s for a week and they had him on similac and he started gaining weight. He had to be at 4lbs before we could take him home. And he gaining weight in that week he was there. I’m going to call the doctor in the morning and see what I can do.

I like similac better my son was on enfamil at first but he wasn’t liking it and got bad gas and colic so I switch to similac advanced he still didn’t react good to it then we switched to similac sensitive and he was better he likes it and it’s been good to him
