Not baby related... Has anyone had appendicitis ? what were your symptoms and how long in hospital…

My mum and sister have, they were in extreme pain and doubled over and couldn’t walk.

If you suspect it though go straight to the hospital!

When my mum and sister were in extreme pain they were in danger of it bursting so had it out straight away xx

Extreme pain.... as in it feels like your dying.... also vomiting and unable to keep fluids down.

If it ruptures it can cause blood poisoning so it's very serious.

I had mine out in an emergency operation and was home in about 9 days x

My friend (I was living with at the time) firstly she had a stitch like pain right side , went completely off her food, went to work the next day and was being sick and the pain was worsening , she went hospital and had a High temp and had her appendix removed was in for few days and then was at home in bed for few weeks.

Apparently if you press on the area of the pain and it hurts when you release the pressure then it’s likely to be the appendix. I’d get checked ASAP as it is life threatening if it ruptures xx

I have. I had pain in my shoulder for a week then it started in my stomach middle to right side of my tummy. Went to doctors on the Monday because I felt so sick with pain. Because I hadn't been sick they sent me home got to the car and threw up everywhere (luckily not in the car) went back straight away doctor sent me to a and e where I was kept over night for monitoring had an ultrasound etc showed nothing. I got sent home in bed all day Wednesday went back to doctors on Thursday as pain wasn't going away got sent back to the hospital where they basically said we're going in to have a look. Starved me Thursday until 11pm when they told me no surgery tonight then starve me Friday until 11pm again to be told no surgery. Had my surgery on Saturday and stayed overnight until Sunday when I was finally allowed to go home. Xx

@jess2801, @erincharlieconor, @laurabump27, @beebeejgill, aw thank you for that my mum is in so much pain it started Monday she’s been in and out of hospital and they told her to go back tomorrow but she’s gone in this morning instead I hope she’s ok they suspected it was appendix to start with but because she wasn’t sick or have a fever they’ve kind of not taken her seriously but what they gonna do wait for it to burst 🙄... they might operate today just hope she’s ok thanks for advise and help all 💖💖 xxx
