So my daughter keeps screaming out in pain in the middle of the night and grabbing the outside of her leg and screaming it hurts. She will take Tylenol and once it kicks in she lays right back down and will go to sleep. It doesn't happen every night but it's happened three nights in the last month and I'm wondering at what point I should consider taking her to the pediatrician. Is this normal?

Growing pains. Its pretty normal. My daughter kicks , squirms , cries. Sometimes its once in a while and sometimes it’s a few nights in a row. Tylenol and a warm rice sock helps my girl go right back to sleep. Lightly massage her leg muscles.

it works wonders with the dumb growing pains! I pop it in the microwave for about a minute and 15 seconds lay it over her pants or a blanket and she instantly feels relief. The only thing about the rice sock it smells funny when its heated up lol

It can be both legs or it can be just one.

Please take her to see a Dr.Years ago my good friend and I took our kids to the zoo.her daughter was 3 yrs old and kept saying she didn't want to walk in the zoo and saying her legs hurt..she thought she was being a toddler ..it was hot out. Long walk around zoo....that night she had a high fever and kept saying her legs hurt..At the hospital they confirmed she had Bone Cancer..she was just 3..by 8 yrs old she was cancer free..don't want to scare you... can be growing pains too but,check to be safe

I feel like I have to check. There have been a couple of times when she will be running and just drop to the floor too mid run and grab it and cry. It passes so it's probably nothing but I don't want to ignore something and find out later that it was really something.
