There are so many factors that come into play. I would say $75k+ is a good starting point

A lot of it depends on where you live. In NJ you need $100k+ a year to own a home and have kids

Definitely depends on where you live... like @lizibear84, said ^^ my husband makes 100k / year + bonus and mileage paid and we have a house and only 1 child and we live pretty well!

This really depends on location. I know some people who can barely make ends meet at $100k in their area.

It honestly depends on where you live and what type of health insurance you have access to. My husband makes $100,000+ per year and our health insurance is free through the union so we live comfortably. A few years ago we made roughly $70,000 combined while my husband was in school and we struggled because of health insurance for us and our son.

In az we make a combined 65k a year and live pretty comfortable with one. But with two its going to be a tiny bit of struggle do to health insurance and daycare plus morgage amd car payments.
