Older Mama's (over 35), if you've had a baby in the last year or 2, or are currently pregnant, was it or will this baby be your last? I'll turn 39 on March 3rd and my csection is scheduled for March 20th. My body hurts so bad this time round and hubby and I have already agreed this is our last (my 4th, his 2nd), but I'm not getting my tubes tied either. I feel like it's just too permanent 🙍.

I had my first baby at 35 and my second at 37. I’m now 39. I would really love another child, but not sure if my body could handle it. I had a really rough time with my first(constant high blood pressure that put me in and out of the hospital). Then with my second the pregnancy was easy, but recovery was rough( a lot of pain and postpartum depression ). I know woman do it all the time, but I have a hard time imagining myself having a child at 40 or older. I am not on any birth control so we really aren’t preventing pregnancy. I’ve put it in the lords hands. My only advice to you would be to listen to your body and take your emotions into account also. Only you can make the decision that is best for you and your family. I understand how you feel about the permanence of having tubes tied. Best of luck.

I was 19 when I had my oldest, 22 when I had my 2nd. Both were very easy pregnancies and I had no health issues at all. I was 34 when I had my son and bc I was older, I was automatically high risk. My BP was good, but I had GD with him and he was 10.3lbs at birth. My husband and I started trying again when our son was 2.5 bc he was potty trained (I didn't want 2 in diapers) and it took us over a year to get pregnant. Then I had a miscarriage and I was devastated not like I wasn't with my previous MC, but it took is so long I didn't think I'd be able to anymore bc of my age. This pregnancy has been stressful since the beginning. I thought I was having an ectopic pregnancy, then there was worry bc my HCG wasn't doubling like it should've. Then the blood flow wasn't the greatest in my uterine arteries. For the most part, my pregnancy is going good now, just sore ALL the time and I haven't had any energy since I got pregnant. I just don't feel like my body can't physically go thru this anymore, but I'm not ready to do anything permanent.

@soon2bmommyof4, Sorry to hear of your loss. I’ve had 3 loses myself. 2 before my first born and one in between. That’s another one of my biggest worries is if I could possibly go through that again.

yea, going thru a loss is super hard not just physically but emotionally as well. We tried for a year and a half and then when we got pregnant and then lost it, it was hardest on me and we weren't even trying again when I got pregnant this time.
Im 35 weeks tmrw but I still worry about losing this baby. Only thing that helps is she's very active.

I had my first at 31 and I am having my second in May. Our first took forever! 3 years ttc! This one took 3 weeks! My husband is getting fixed. We will have a boy and girl and that is enough for us. We do not have the time (hours in the day, not age)or money to have another. We both work full time and I have no desire to be a sahm plus pregnancy is hard I have gestational diabetes (insulin 3 times a day) one angel baby and severe hip pain. I think you know when you family is complete and you will be at peace with it.
