RANT!! IM FURIOUS?!

yesterday we went to file our taxes and we are generally recieving a large refund soon. Today I got an additional w2 form and went to add it in to see if I ended up owing. $56 is what I would have had to pay state back. TELL ME WHY THE FUCKIN MANAGER SAYS "aw man looks like I forgot to add a w2 in last night. This is what happens when my boss overworks me"..I then ask what the difference is and she calmly says "$1081.." NOW I OWE OVER $1000 to the IRS and it's HER fault. I could give a shit about paying a $56 difference due to my own fault...but best believe corporate was called and I'll be DAMNED if I have to pay for HER MISTAKE and LAZINESS.

@laniejay and if I did owe that from underpaying it should have come out of my return straight away, not after the matter. Whatever I owed should be taken out and I'll get the remainder of the refund. Not having to now pay back after

@ajowens1547, that’s weird because I read if you amend it you just receive it later than most

@santistevanmommie I should be receiving it soon, but I'll receiver the greater amount. Then when I officially file the amendment March first I'll send a money order for the $1081

That is frustrating! Thankfully you can just amend it, you have plenty of time to.

@c00kiemomster yeah I have to amend it March 1st. But I'm so upset because this should have never happened. I'm in a situation right now where everything I do is going to be looked at when I go in for an interview and this is just a set back that I really did not need. Our refund was going to wipe out all of our debt and now I'm back at square freaking one.

The amount owed isn't her fault, theres no penalty for amending the return.

That's not how taxes work. Before you complain to corporate, I'd do some research. Even try it yourself with online calculators...you owe what you owe because you underpaid, not because she forgot to include it.

@laniejay I'm upset because it should have been claimed originally. Now I have to pay back the difference of what the true refund should have been versus what I'm getting. I'm in a position where I needed to wipe out my debt and now this is reflecting said balance of debt with the IRS. I'm not saying she's the reason this $1081 came out of thin air and now i have to pay it cause she said so or something ridiculous like that. I'm saying I shouldn't have a balance after filing that I need to pay back.

@ajowens1547 if you think that its incorrect, ask them to double check. Odds are, its becu6ase of your earnings and you didnt pay enough in during the year or you no longer qualify for a credit becuase of your income... so yes, it is what you owe. Which again, has zero to do with her.
