I literally hate that I can spend two hours looking at a thousand names and not like a single one enough to put it on a list...🤦 We should find out what we're having on Wednesday and id planned on having a couple names for each gender on a list to go over with with my man...but looks like that's not happening. I literally just wasted two hours of free time trying to name this kid and nothing came of it. I still just hate the way things sound with our one syllable last name, they're names in the trends I hate/ way too popular, or they're too out there for me to commit to the name.

It won't be lol. My son didn't have a name until he was a week away from being born, and we rushed it because he doctors said I'd be delivering early most likely so we had to choose fast since he came at 37 weeks

Same issue. Every time I find one I like it has a very quick nick name that I hate 😞 it's so hard to find a good name.

I've shared the name with two friends of mine and they said "Aww a little baby Addie." Or "You could call her Addie!" so that's what I'm worried about. People love to shorten names for whatever reason. I really only like the name when it's the full name. Delia isn't bad, I'll give it that much, but the names prettiest to me as the full Adelia. Plus I like the name meaning, it means Noble kind,(my son's name is Henry which means Ruler of the home so they kinda match in that way) and is a type of flowering plants that's absolutely gorgeous too!

That's a bummer. I don't understand why people feel the need to shorten names either. Parents picked that name and not the shortened form for a reason and it should be respected.

yeah it's one thing if the parents themselves use the nickname and planned on using that nickname, but I hate when other people decide to nickname a kid because it "easier to say"

Omg same. Like, I've found names that sound nice enough, but they are missing the 'it' factor.
Finally figured out that the name I choose needs to have some sort of meaning to me, not just sound nice. I still don't have a name idea, but at least I have a narrower starting point. Good luck momma!
