Go to a tattoo shop—or some pediatricians do it. Avoid any place that uses a gun.

That’s what I had in mind. I did not wanna go to Claire’s. All of my husband side of the family is always so nosey and telling me to go there. I’ve told them so many times no. They still insist. They uneducated

tea_drinker, I saw a video on Facebook about it when I only had my son. So now that I have a girl I’m against gun piercings. Also, personally I’ve gotten ear piercings from a gun and they hurt like hell. And it actually got stuck on one of my ears. And i don’t want the possibility of that happening to my daughter.

That’s what I want to do. My mil doesn’t get it. I’ve told her every time I’m waiting until she asks. Yet she goes out and buy her diamond earrings. 🙄

That’s so irritating! You’re the mama so it’s your decision. Do what YOU feel is best.

Only go to a tattoo shop with a professional piercer. They have strict requirements to become a piercer. They have strict practice times they are required to complete with a professional (their apprenticeship). They have strict rules and (I think) laws they must abide by. As well as strict sanitation.
And as previous users have said, a needle is better for the ear than an piercing gun and an individual with very little "training".

My daughter is 4 and still hasn’t had her ears pierced yet....it’s whenever she wants.

I pierced both my girls ears at our mall, and they used a piercing gun. AND... they’re ears didn’t fall off, or get an infection. It’s really just preference 😉
AND, they both stopped crying like 15 seconds later 👍🏼
