I need advice. My daughters dad and I have been together about 4 years, on and off. We’ve been through a lot, he’s put me through more stuff than I could ever type out on here. We don’t really have a connection anymore, he doesn’t live with us but we still see him a lot. He wants to be together, and I do love him, but I feel like the romance is just gone due to everything he has done to me. Examples- cheating, abuse, drug addiction and everything that goes along with that. He always says r will change but of course goes back to his old ways, and somehow always makes me feel like I pushed him too do it. Even though I know Dee0 down it’s not my fault I still feel like it and I just can’t seem to let him go. Of course he has great parts about him too, and we have a lot of history together . I’ve been talking to this guy, he’s really nice and has everything going for him. I feel like he is someone I could have a future with but can’t make myself let go of my ex even though I know there’s nothing between us anymore! Sorry if I rambled.. hopefully it all made sense.

I’d say you’re holding onto something that’s gonna make you miserable especially if you’re not happy I would let go before it gets worse it okay to be selfish for you own happiness

Your happiness comes first. And if with your bd there's no flames anymore why stick with it when you can be in a better space. Give it a shot and allow yourself and your daughter to be happy.

I agree. You've been there, done that, and learned a lot from your time with him. Youve learned that a relationship with him will not make you happy. Keep marching forward, momma.

Keep moving forward.
You love your ex, you have history and a child together and sometimes its just hard letting go.
At the end of the day, you deserve happiness and it seems like he isnt ut. Keep pushing forward, you will get through it

I don’t think yoh will love him. I think your still love the old him. That love will never be true and innocent anymore. You should sit down and have a honest conversation with yourself. Because yoh are going to miss out on a man that really is good to you. For someone who use to be. He isn’t ever going to go back to what you want him or need him to be. Once lines are crossed it’s easy to cross them again. Your tangled in a web of old feelings. They aren’t what you want bc you know his cycle, and your going to be the one hurt again feeling like if you did something different he wouldn’t be the way he is. Good luck. I say just give this new dude a chance and co-parent and be friends (only) with your old guy.

Give yourself time, those feelings of your ex will pass :} it’s new. It’s the history you miss and you can make better :} your baby deserves a happy mamma, right?!
