My one year old drinks ALL DAY. Mostly water ( as long as its cold) and sometimes a cup of 3/4 water 1/4 juice and milk with dinner. He fills up about 14 diapers a day. Is that too much?

Dang he thirsty lol. I'd cut it down a tad bite. But I mean it's water so no harm there. But that's so many diapers lol. Maybe more solids/snacks

More food could be the answer....hes just so picky lol

that’s a lot of diapers, in my opinion. Sofia fills up about 6-7 a day.

Not to be alarming BUT how long has this gone on? Extreme thirst and frequent peeing is a diabetic sign of DKA 😬 I would definitely speak to a doctor ASAP

@pamelawife134, you have what issue, diabetes?
pamelawife134··

That’s a hell of a lot of diapers. At that age, my daughter went through maybe 7 diapers a day. Has he always had extreme thirst?

I dont really think he's that thirsty. I think its more of a comfort thing. I just have to cut back
Queen Meeks··
yeah I would definitely cut back and bring that up to his pediatrician.

Please have him checked. 💙

Lynnie was drinking and peeing more so I had her tested for diabetes. She is fine. But before potty training she would fill may 6 or 7 pull ups a day. Definitely have him tested.

Maybe try making smoothies. They're a little thicker so he would drink less. Thats what I did with my 1y/o bc she was just drinking all day and not wanting to eat. Now shes eating all day and waking up at night wanting 'bite bites' hopefully hes just drinking to compensate for food and you can slowly get him out of that habit

If you think it's just a comfort thing then I would put the cup away between meals and snacks. He'd probably start eating more too.
