Why do so many women wanna be induced??? I don’t get it. I feel like being induced is so much more…

I was induced with my first, due to my age and gestational diabetes. I do not want to be induced this time. It hurt sooo bad! 2 days of contractions and she did not want to come out. My water broke, and after 18 hours, I was only 2cm dilated, so I had to have an emergency c-section! Not at all how I planned my delivery. I want our little boy to come when he’s ready.

I was induced with 3 out of my 4 children. I personally never noticed a difference in pain vs naturally going into labor and being induced.

We planned an induction with my daughter because if we waited any longer, my husband would have missed the birth due to his job. Luckily she came 3 days earlier so he made it to the birth AND got to spend 2 days with us before he was gone. My OB felt comfortable with it because my blood pressure was rising very quickly at the end of my pregnancy (like it did with my son) and if we waited any longer I likely would have been induced a few days later anyway due to blood pressure. The only difference is that if we waited, my husband wouldn’t have been there for it.

My first induction was due to pre eclampsia, but this time we’ve already decided if I don’t go on my own, we will induce the week of 39 weeks because my job is only giving me 4 weeks of maternity leave, so this way I’d get about 6 weeks to heal. 🤷🏼‍♀️
