For those who have been following my progress, you know that I've been suffering badly with HG. Well when I hit my 21 week mark, this finally subsided.

Today however I had some unexpected and shocking news during my scan. I explained to my gynecologist that I felt like I was getting period pains and was on my period but wasn't bleeding. She thought it was a magnesium deficiency but checked my cervix to makes sure. During the internal ultrasound she went deadly silent, which you instantly know something isn't right. Every time she passed over a certain area, I was in pain. On the screen there was this big, black void.

The doctor measured it and then told me that I have bled in my cervix and the blood was trapped and causing pain. I asked if it could have anything to do with my endometriosis as the scan looks very similar to the extreme cyst growth I had surgery on 5 years ago. In that moment it clicked in her mind and she explained that she wasn't exactly sure if she was looking at my cervix or something else, but now, knowing my history, she realises that this was my left ovary swelling with blood from endometriosis. Against all logic, my regular monthly lining was continuing to grow in my ovary and now causing me pain.

This needs an operation, but they can't do anything whilst I'm pregnant or if I'm breast feeding. She also advised that this might be easier to resolve by removing the left ovary completely. So now I face possible pregnancy and birth complications if this growth rate is too quick and attaches to my uterus. Or at a minimum I'm going to develop increasingly severe pain until it's operated on.

Has anyone else gone through this?
