Is it normal for day cares to charge you even when your child isn’t there? My child was out all last week with the flu. So I had to oh somebody else to keep her. So she didn’t get the other kids sick. An now the day care is charging me $185 for that whole week. And she didn’t even attend there the entire week. So now I owe them $360 due tomorrow for one week.
Yessssss !!!! The same way you pay rent when you go on vacation, you pay ya phone bill when ya phone dead , your paying for a contract
I work at a daycare and yes rather a child is there or not parents have to pay I literally had a baby with hands foot and mouth and my argued with me saying she has to pay for her to be here so she’s bringing her anyway and she brought and tried to argue with me because I wouldn’t accept the child so she sat the baby down and ran out the class I literally had to call her and tell her that if she didn’t come get her kid I was calling child protective services I understand where she was coming from but there is still rules to when you just can’t bring them and for those day we don’t charge
It's normal. You pay for the spot. It's the same with his preschool, if he's out sick or they're closed for weather and he misses a day, we still pay the same amount. Same with soccer or other paid activities. If he's out we still pay, but at least with soccer they'll add a class or give you money back if it's a weather closing.
That’s crappy considering your child had the flu, and you would think you would get some sort of no charge with proof, but they charge to hold your spot.
We do if we have used all of our sick or vacation days. For example, my son goes 2 days a week, so he has 2 sick days where he can not go and we dont pay. More than that we pay
They don’t even do any sick days. I have to pay for all 5 days she was out.
Wow that’s crazy, it doesn’t sound right to have to pay is she wasn’t there. I’d say something about that! That’s expensive. I hope she feels better‼️💋🤘🏼
Yes, you pay for their spot not their attendance. You should have a contract and it alm should be spelled out.
Completely normal. Do you have a contract? Take a look at the contract. All the day cares my daughter went to I had to pay whether she was there on not. Even when they were closed I had to pay.
Maybe ask if you can split last week's fees over the next two weeks until you're all caught up so it isn't as much on your wallwt
@massgirl, I don’t know about contract I prolly have one. I’ll see if they will do that. Thank you.
Yes. I’m pretty sure every day care is like that. You pay every week no matter what while your child is enrolled there.
Some daycare charges to keep your spot in the daycare program. If they have a waiting list. I never have delt with having to pay when my child missed
I've worked in centers and I've ran an in home. At both, payment was required regardless of attendance. If not, no money is made for that spot. Im sure quality childcare is the mission, but at the end of the day, it is still a business... and business is money.
