First appointment for Jaz is tomorrow and she’ll be 4days old. I always thought they did it at a week old... but at least I got it with my favorite pediatrician ❤️ which had always been mine pediatrician before I had my first and is also my Sade’s pediatrician. Did any of you get your baby’s first appointment because they turned a week?? I’m just curious to know if it’s common. 🤔

All my kids had their first appointment at 2 days old!

with my last daughter I had her early Friday morning and was discharged Saturday afternoon. She saw her pediatrician Monday morning. The check up was to check her weight, her umbilical cord, and to make sure she wasn't jaundice or anything. As with the other comment below, we weren't allowed to be discharged from the hospital until an appointment had been made. That was in Illinois, may vary by state.

So I guess technically she was a little over 3 days old at that point.

Idk about where you’re from but I know in Florida you have to take the baby to a pediatrician between day one and two of leaving the hospital. Same in New York. They didn’t let us leave without making an appointment for her no more than two days after discharging us

@iltoco, @momtotwoo, I guess I never really thought of other states 😅🤦🏻♀️ I just grew up knowing/hearing they do the appointment at 1wk and 2wks. And as I did with my first. 😌

@xomarylee it was nice to have the extra check up, just to make sure the baby was doing okay but going to an appointment two/three days after delivery was rough lol
