Okay ladies we talk every day about our children and how we take precautions in every way to insure their safety. I have worked in the Emergency Service profession for a long time, and I've seen some really awful things. I wish everyone would take the time to prepare Family Go Bags and Emergancy Packs. Create an emergency plan. Map out a primary place to meet, secondary place to meet if the first is unavailable. Have emergency kits in EVERY bedroom(window breaker, emergency ladders etc) and teach EVERYONE how to use everything inside the kit. Practice fire drills at home. Pack survival kits in your cars. Put important documents in fireproof boxes. All these things take a small amount of time and planning but could save you and your families lives. We as moms always make sure our family is taken care of on so many levels, please don't let Emergency Planning slip through our thoughts. There are many resources out there to help us come up with good "pack" ideas, suitable for our needs and circumstances, please take the time and do some research, planing and preparation for the situations that we THINK will never effect us!!!!

I'm sorry I don't have any links off the top of my head. Again it would depend on where you live. I live in Canada so I have to make sure my bags are suited for -50°C weather, if you don't have that kind of temperatures, than extra thermal socks may not pertain to you lol
Off the top of my head some essentials in our bedroom kits would be :
-window ladders (my kids would not be able to jump)
-window smashers (you can buy online for 5$, highly recommend, even to have on your car keys!)
-water bottles
-2 way radios (all set to same channel)
-flashlights
-first aid kit
-smoke mask(mine are for children as young as 3yo)
- light sticks
-fire blankets
I know there is more in my bags, but I'm just winging my list before I fall asleep lol 😂
If you google "emergency bags" or something of the like there is LOTS out there. Pick and choose what works for your family! Even Pinterest has some awesome ideas!

I also live in Ontario Canada and with the weather we just had I don’t even know what we would do in an emergency or something simple as the power going out and having no heat! We do fire drills but I always wonder if they will really be able to open the window when it comes down to it so those window smashers are fantastic idea thanks for the reminder

I bought one of these hand crank generators , and have a small desk heater that does run off of it. The generator did cost me $40.00, the heater cost me $20.00, but I've had to use it a couple times already when our power did go out for longer than anticipated. It wouldn't heat the house lol but it does work surprisingly well.

This is a great idea! I have something like this for my car - it’s for change’s of clothes for each kid, a cup for each kid, a blanket for each kid, snacks (that won’t go bad in a short amount of time), a flashlight, water bottles in my trunk, etc ☺️

I’ve been wanting to get back packs for each of my family members. Something in case we had to just take off in the middle of the night or whatever. We’ve already set up a meeting place in case of fire. I’ve told them how to escape and who to call. Even if carbon monoxide detectors go off I’ve told them what to do. It wouldn’t hurt for me to go over these procedures every month tho.
I really need to get these bags put together as well as car kits.
