I’ve had enough of today. It’s not even a “mom” thing. It’s a “having in laws” thing. 🤬

In laws have a way of making marriage feel like a life sentence. Sorry you're having a rough day!

I’ve mastered the art of it-laws 🙃 I can help

I hope you can help her. That would be great! Unfortunately not all inlaws are made equal and some just can't be helped no matter the attempts. Best wishes ladies!!!

@mrshoward18, @ooshefit2, @twoprincesses, @xryztalroze, it was something so avoidable and I’m so disappointed in the entire situation that I’m laying here stewing in my anger. My father in law made an ignorant comment and I barely got my passive aggressive comment in before my sil and mil attacked me like I had stabbed the man. Then my mil brought my husband into it by later telling him that I’m critical and I had no right to say anything to my fil. Granted my approach may not have been the best but to be berated was uncalled for so I’m done. When anyone else inserts their opinion they’re a god damn hero. My husband was so frustrated by the whole thing that he started fighting with me. I was already having Braxton Hicks before the entire ordeal and was uncomfortable. The entire thing was a giant mess and I’m still livid.

What’s important is that you get your husband on your side.
First of all, 3 against 1. Very fucking unfair if you ask me.
They all need to grow the hell up. You have every right to keep them away from you. If they want to visit, take your son and leave for lunch or ice cream. If your husband wants to give you shit, ask him how he can sit there and let his family bully his pregnant wife and not stand up for her? So if that’s how it’s going to be, Youd rather remove yourself from the possibility of being bullied again which will cause another rift between you and your husband. All you were doing was defending yourself in whatever way you could. They’re antagonists and you need to keep them away from you and your children until they learn to have a little respect for YOU as their mother. Assert yourself, this is YOUR family and you will not be tolerate that shit , especially in your own home. Your home is your safe spot, and if your husband cannot keep it safe for you then try leaving during visits.

@ooshefit2, well I just told my husband that I’m still upset about it and explained why and apparently he did defend me when I wasn’t there to defend myself. I made it right with my father in law but refuse to apologize to my mil or sil because I wasn’t talking to them to begin with. They both do this a lot and it bothers the fuck outta me. He told his mom that they don’t allow anyone to have an opinion that doesn’t align with theirs and she said “that’s not true”. It’s totally true. They badger about certain decisions we make as parents and will keep asking until they get the answer they like but we still do what we feel is right. She’s just bossy and controlling and taught her daughter to be the same way.
