At 1- repetition, consistency and more repetition. Discipline isnt needed, they need to learn.

My daughter is 2 and 3 months. I've put her in a time out like 3 times since she turned 2 but only for hitting. Everything else is still just repeating myself and trying to explain why she can't do something. As she gets older time outs will get longer but until shes at least 5 or 6 I don't plan on changing that. We'll see what happens as she gets older and sassier lol

If you are looking to read a good book on parenting, give "unconditional parenting" by alfie kohn a try. It doesn't exactly give you strategies but a general idea of what to do and what not to do. 😊
