I think my two year old may be autistic. What steps do I need to take to get him evaluated and tested?
My sons pediatrician recommended a program that's amazing and he's now getting speech therapy. They think my son is autistic as well. Inbox me and we can talk more
His speech is the biggest reason I think he is. There are just a lot of little things I notice that he does that I’ve never seen other kids his age do.
@tylersmommy11116, your being very vague with your answer so I can’t give much feedback. But from my own experience when my son was 2 I felt his speech was delayed but wasn’t quick to say he was autistic that a very harsh diagnosis to predict yourself. I got him free speech therapy that was recommended by his pedi and we did that for a yr and of course with all of that their is small testings that’s done to rule out autism. Let me just say my son has taken off with his speech and won’t be quiet now. Lol
@sassy_momma, autism is genetic on his father’s side. My boyfriends youngest brother is autistic & I believe his uncle is as well. It could be he’s just speech delayed.
Try CHKD Developmental pediatrics. Both of my friend children are autistic.
Express your concerns to the pediatrician. More than likely they will advise you to get him early intervention through the state or private if you chose. My son has been on early intervention since 18 months. His speech is delayed his motor skills were Delayed but getting better. His social skills are sub par but they work with him. My son is on the spectrum. It’s tough but you take it day by day. If you need to talk don’t hesitate to message me
