Its nearly impossible to find somewhere for rent, especially that allows pets! Like 90% of people have animals.
I just had the same problem. No matter where you go no one wants pets, especially dogs. And if they do take dogs they will only take them if they are under 30 pounds or something. We finally found a place but there is a $135 pet rent fee per month in addition to the $1,800 for rent 😩 ridiculous. I wish you luck!
We had to talk to the Landlord and pay an extra $50 a month plus extra $250 on deposit.
Or you can get them certified as an emotional support animal and they can't tell you your not aloud to have them. That's what my sister did. I think it cost her $150.
@beakymcspence it really was nice. She was scared she wouldn't find a place in the few days she thought she would have but they worked with her. I'm not sure how it all works but that's what my sister told me and I figured it might be worth a shot lol
@ambermarieeee I didn't even think to check lol. I would at least ask the landlord if they would accept either an emotional support animal or for u to pay a fee if they say no animals. The worst the can do is say no.
U could always ask if they would consider pets with a pet deposit or pay a pet fee every month. The last place we rented said no pets but we asked if we could keep them and pay extra. We paid an extra 20 a month for pets (10 per animal we had 2 cats at the time) and she was fine with it. Sometimes u just have to ask.
A lot of people in our area won’t rent to people with pets and even kids it’s become a real rental crisis. We have a rental property and the strata doesn’t allow pets but we would if it wasn’t already a rule but as the landlords we have no say on strata regulations.
Omg yes it took me forever to find a place that allowed pets when i was looking. It was always the first question I asked to avoid wasting my time.
