My 4 year old learned when he learned that his is a penis. So around 2.5-3

Honestly I just tell him that boys are built different than girls. That I have a vagina and he has a penis. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s human anatomy, it’s nothing to be ashamed of

I have a teen and never once did he ask me anything like that

I would just be honest. Nothing wrong with giving facts to a child that are age appropriate.

My son knows that boys have penises and testicles. He knows that girls have vulvas (we prefer that term instead of vagina as vagina is too specific). He knows that everyone has nipples and that boobs are for babies. He asks a lot of questions. I’m not sure why anyone would lie to their kids or avoid the subject. Honesty is best.

Why are people so scared to tell their sons that girls have vaginas? It’s not a big deal.

My son and daughter are so close in age. She is curious when I’m changing him and always try’s to grab it. I tell her no baby that’s his penis you don’t touch his penis, he doesn’t touch your vagina. Only you are allowed to touch yours and no one can touch his penis either. He don’t try to grab hers bc she doesn’t have one. But starting them young with the correct terminology will avoid the awkwardness.

Just tell him exactly what you have and how it’s different.

My daughter knows she and other girls have vaginas and boys have penis’.

It’s important in this day and age for them to know what each gender has by their autonomic names. We started teaching my daughter when she started potty training

@modom16, I think it’s because my parents were VERY “hush hush” about it so it’s makes me like that. When I told my son the correct term for his penis my dad was freaking out and said “he can’t be saying that in front of the girls”( my two little nieces)
