HELP! My son got vaccinated 3 days ago but now has gotten a low grade fever and has redness and swelling in legs and arms. Could it be from vaccine or my mother in law (without consent which I'm pissed about) put rubbing alcohol for arthritis on him because his legs were sore from shots and now my husband brought him back from her house and now this is accuring. I'm thinking I'm going to take him to hospital I just wanted to know if anybody has gotten this after vaccination or if from the alcohol.

It's from the vaccine.. the rubbing alcohol is to soothe the redness and reduce swelling.

Ok. Thanks it's just because he didnt have any redness or swelling until she put that on him. And it's not just rubbing alcohol it's that red kind that's for arthritis so it has medicine in it too and I've never heard of anyone putting this on a baby.

Plus they normally say allergic reactions dont typically happen more that 24 hours later and it's been 3 days and 12 hours later.

@saintsmama oh wow, yeah that's not the kind u should use on kids.. I hope he is okay. But I do know the vaccine can cause the same reaction.. take him to a mini clinic if it still bothering u both in the AM.

It may be from that type of rubbing alcohol...it may have irritated the shot area more.baby Tylenol would've sufficed. No alcohol needed...MIL's can be hard headed lol. I hope he feels better soon.

Probably the rubbing alcohol caused some irritation. Not sure about swelling though. Low grade fever can be from the shots.

Call his doctor. And speak to them about it. Fever is normal after shots.
