Picked up my son from school and his teachers asked if I got the nurses message, told him no bc no one called my phone. (apparently the nurse has the wrong number). Anyway, he was sent to the school nurse for consistent coughing and they ended up giving him a breathing treatment (he was recently diagnosed with asthma). I called the pediatrician bc of this and bc it's been going on for 2 weeks now (brought him in to the Dr last week and they said it was just a cold), fast forward another week and his cough has gotten so much worse. Unfortunately, the pediatricians office didn't have any openings so I'm sitting here with him at Urgent Care. Praying my boy doesn't have pneumonia again bc he just had it in November.

Thank you. I feel so bad for sending him to school today but I honestly thought once he got it all out this morning, he'd be fine.
The last time he had pneumonia, it developed after being told it was 'just a cold' and it would have to run it's course. That was right before we went to Disney for our annual family vacation. We were gone for 2 weeks (and at that time he had been coughing for 3 weeks). When we got back, they diagnosed him with pneumonia. I may have been a little premature in taking him to the Dr last week, but for very good reason, especially now.

Great job mom being urgent and not wasting time. Doctors sometimes miss things. No need to take chances.

Thank you. I don't want him to get worse overnight tonight without being seen. I hate taking him to urgent care bc they've often misdiagnosed me, but it was either here or the ER. I'll call the pediatrician in the morning and schedule a follow-up tho.

My baby doesn't have pneumonia, but he does have bronchitis with an asthmatic cough. There writing scripts for an antibiotic, a steroid, and a nebulizer with Albuterol treatment.
