Read the City of Bones Series by Cassandra Clare!
There are about 10 books total cuz there are tangents after this series that all connect. 
The movie was crap but the books were amazing!

I love the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.  If you’re into mysteries, I also really like the books by Kathy Reichs that they based the series Bones on.

Look up saving angel by j.l weil. I'm only on book two (theirs 5 in the series) but I really like it.
