Moms!!! Many of us have REALLY bad self image views after having a child. Maybe you gained weight, maybe you have stretch marks, maybe you haven’t been able to put much effort in self care as you used too.. whatever the reason you’re not alone. One thing I realized is my daughter is picking up on things WAY more easier than she used too and it got me thinking, do I want her to have the self image of herself the way I do about myself?? OF COURSE NOT! I’d be deepened with sadness if she ever viewed herself the way I do about myself. I started reading deeper into my book by Joyce Meyer and one part of it really stood out on self acceptance, “If we don’t get along with ourselves, we won’t get along with other people. When we reject ourselves, it may seem to us that others reject us as well. Relationships are a vital part of our lives. How we feel about ourselves is a determining factor in our success. Our self image is the inner picture we carry of ourselves. If what we see is not healthy, not true to the scriptures, we will suffer from fear, insecurity and various misconceptions about ourselves.” I took this to heart... made me really think. I could name a whole list of things on I hate of myself and think that it’s harmless too say or feel that way, but in reality it really effects to much more. I have so much goals physically and personally and it all begins with truly accepting who I am.
