What are some things you started feeding your baby’s at 6 months? Her doctor says I need to slowly start feeding her 3x a day 😬
Oatmeal to prevent iron deficiency. Then purées. We started with fruits and my son is obsessed with veggies to this day so I don’t think that makes a difference.
I wouldn't add cereal to a babies bottle, that is not good for them at all. You can offer mashed foods like avocado, sweet potatoes, or pure fruits and veggies. You could always google baby led weaning and see if that interests you.
First please don’t do as @langwell615, has mentioned and add cereal to your baby’s bottle. It can be very dangerous and is a choking hazard. Are you planning on doing purées or blw? I would start with vegetables and then move to fruits.
A 1/4 of a teaspoon of cereal is not a choking hazard in a 6oz bottle. My sons dr wouldnt have said to do it if it was. So please, think logically about what amount you would introduce before assuming I'm willing to choke my child.
@langwell615, my daughters pediatrician did tell me definitely not in a bottle. She said to put it in a little bowl and actually feed her. Not being hateful, I know everyone gets different advice and we’re all just doing what we’re told and hear is best!
Someone told us to start with veggies so that they wouldn’t want fruit all the time but idk how true that is. But we started with green beans!
Her pediatrician did say this. I messed up and gave her fruits first and she almost threw up when I gave her peas today. But they did look and smell gross lol.
I honestly know nothing about blw. I’ve heard of it but just never thought to look into it. So purée more than likely lol.
Are you breastfeeding ? Research allergens. We did avocado first, because I was eating them daily. He didn’t care too much for it. Sweet potatoes, apples, and bananas. My son has zero interest in foods. He’s just now eating multiple times a day. Food before one is for fun. Learning to eat. 🤷🏻♀️ Oatmeal Or rice cereal. But not in a bottle.
Edit. Also, don’t introduce multiple foods at once. Do one, and only that one for a week or two, before introducing more. That way their tummy’s adjust and you can weed out what your baby is allergic to. ❤️🤙🏻
