@bunny713 its a job that I feel like takes a lot of dedication, compassion, and patience. If you aren't certain about it then it may not be worth it for you.
@bunny713 at the first nursing home I worked at I was also in housekeeping. I worked day shift house keeping and evening shift as an aide. The facility is actually who paid for me to go to CNA school.
But the housekeeping staff and aides were pretty great for the most part about keeping the place clean and smelling nice.
I did ! I like working at nursing home /rehab because most of those people fell or had surgery and they are just there for short term so they can do a lot more than people that’s in a long term care facility like a nursing home . Just make sure your passionate and patient about it
Overall no.
I got really close with some of the residents. Made decent money too. Worked a shit ton of hours.
But there are negatives to every job. I can honestly say I would never do it again though.
I have worked in nursing homes. The first one I worked at was by far the best one. Most of the residents were long term care. But some were there for rehabilitation and only there short term.
