You can look but try and go to a shelter first. I called 3 agencies and they all said go to a shelter first one of them I believe said they had around 700 on the waitlist. But that was back in June of last year. But definatly call and see especially with the government shut down

I'm my city the shelter bumps you up on the housing list, especially since you're pregnant. Might have to stay a week or 2 but you'd be assigned a case worker and they help you do paperwork for everything like Medicaid and food stamps wic etc, whatever you need. Maybe yours does also?
