I’d sit him down and share your feelings “I’m excited but terrified to have another kid what about you? You seem to joke that you don’t sometimes. It hurts my feelings a little because we don’t have to have this kid but that means making a really really deliberate and final decision.”

Talk to him momma. You’ll probably find he’s just scared again or unsure of his feelings towards it.
