How many of you are deli meat while pregnant
I’m craving a subway melt form subway but hate to breakdown and eat deli meat.. the struggle
I ate it with all my pregnancies and actually what I craved with both boys (had to be cold). I asked my dr and she just laughed and said yes I can eat it.
I’ve eaten it with all of my pregnancies and never had a problem with it
Ate all the food while pregnant. When I was pregnant apples and ice cream were being recalled. Literally EVERYTHING you eat has risks. Enjoy.
I eat deli a couple of times during my pregnancy but I baked my sub in the oven before.
Why can’t you eat deli meat while pregnant? I’ve never heard this ... granted now I wouldn’t like flamingomom said they aren’t inspecting the foods
@madhatter, that’s crazy my dr never said anything about it with any of my pregnancies and no one else ever told me
@supermomof4 I'm surprised no one ever mentioned it! I had never known you couldn't eat them until getting pregnant but I was really nervous this being my first so I looked up what not to eat and deli meat should always be cooked first to kill off possible listeria.
@madhatter, yeah I’m kinda shocked now! I knew it wasn’t good for little ones to eat without warming but that’s it
I think it's fine as long as you toast it. The melt is turkey ham and bacon so it's super easy to make at home
I've only eaten it twice. The first time was the very beginning of my pregnancy, I ordered it without thinking and couldn't really send it back. It was a fairly pricey restaurant. Second time I had a horrible craving for an Italian BMT and had to have it. I felt so guilty I didn't even enjoy it. Was not worth the anxiety and possible risk! Maybe you can get the ingredients and cook the meat first? My favorite sandwich place cooks the meat first and god it's good!
I ate deli meat all through my pregnancy with my daughter and I’ve ate it this time around too.
Ive had a salami sub from Subway, I get it heated. Don't eat deli meat too often but eating it once or twice is fine.
I just made sure they heated up the meat before they made my sandwich to kill anything. But it’s more of a precaution. I get their turkey, bacon, avocado wrap occasionally. And just ask them to heat up the bacon and turkey.
I wouldn’t risk it, especially now because of the FDA not inspecting a lot of foods. Listeria is no joke
I’ve never stopped if you’re suspicious just make sure it’s heated up. I had subway last week, not toasted cause I’m a rebel and that’s how I’m craving it🤷🏼♀️ I really believe produce is more of a risk.
